PlayProfile Project

The PlayProfile Project is one i've been wanting to develop for a while, and have tried to develop it a few times. So what is the idea behind the PlayProfile Project?

The idea is to help bring together a Tracker System, One that allows you to mark-off Video Game Collectables such as Skins for Characters or even items you've gotta find for various Achievements. The tool was originally tried out in 2021 with WIX the website builder but quickly ran into user input issues after to many variables was created for the collectables for the Overwatch character cosmetics, emotes and voice lines.

Other parts of the project was meant to help with tracking TV Shows, Movies and Web-Series. Currently I personally use a tool called Trakt for my TV Shows and Movies what was very good a few years back but has since changed its database and even full visual overhaul removing some amazing features.

Overall the PlayProfile Project was meant to replace any need for spreadsheets for my tracking of Web Series across YouTube or collectables in Video Games, as I was also not wanting to switch between services it was also gonna replace my TV Show and Movie Tracker. Since the original idea I have since learnt a lot about game development tools and the possibly of somewhat gamifying this project.

The Project has now moved over to being developed in Gamemaker a tool that has been used to create games like Undertale. It's a 2d GameDev tool and could very easily be used for a cool little application for the PlayProfile Project especially if the project is gamified in various small ways and this is some of my tasks now with the project, gamifying it to make sense to release but also giving it enough game collectables and content for people to be rather willing to purchase it or even try it out.

Some of the biggest hurdles over the game development & pixel art is the publishing and earning of money. The project needs to make sense to develop and needs to make some money in the end especially for further development in the future, after-all TV Shows, Movies and Web Series have to be added in updates.
