Moving Storage
I've been starting to move all my Photos & Videos from my Google Drive / Google Photos over to the Apple / iCloud Equivalent of iCloud Drive and iCloud Photos. This process actually didn't seem that hard to begin with, but after realising that when downloading the photos and videos off Google's Systems can both take a long time but also doesn't have the META data. I had to find another way.
One of the ways I started to try is to have Google Photos on my iPad and download them from there allowing it to sync to iCloud Photos. The main problem with this method is it just takes so long. The other method I found via research on the internet is that I could use a Google system called Google Takeout, It's not for ordering food off the internet like Uber Eats but is actually a way to export your data from Google's Systems including Google Photos. It zips them into 2GB Files and emails you a link when it's ready. Amazing, the main downside is that it is all stored in 2GB Zipped Files making my whole library span 572 Zipped Files I have to download one by one. Guess it beats downloading each file.
The good thing will be that I would have all my files in one place once completing it. The other aim I have is download each of the Video Files onto my personal system to save space in the long run. Video Files can take up a lot of space, might as well optimise my space.
Future of my Storage Solutions
My Future solution that I would love to have would be a mix of large external Hard Drives and a NAS allowing me to access my Files anywhere in the world as long as I have internet. It could really be a helpful tool for the future of VEX.blue expecially for our editors to have a space to store there finished work.
